SAN JOSE, Calif. —

A few lucky kids in the south bay were given brand new bicycles built by some of their favorite 49ers players.

The San Francisco 49ers and Optum, a health services company, teamed up with Turning Wheels for Kids to build 49 bikes for underserved youth from EHC LifeBuilders in Santa Clara County.

The 49ers have been doing this bike build for kids since 2006.

The families of the children who will benefit from the San Francisco 49ers Annual Holiday Bike Build are formerly homeless and now live at the EHC LifeBuilders Sobrato Family Living Center as they work to rebuild their lives.
